Farm Credit Canada and the Carlyle Elementary School have a mutually beneficial relationship in town. Recently this included a $1,000 donation from the FCC to CES for their Universal Snack Program and their breakfast program.
“We have a nutrition policy in our school and encourage families to follow these guidelines if they can and to help we offer snacks to all of the kids in school every day, five days a week,” Krystal Fehrenbach, Community Education Liaison at CES, explained.
“We are very grateful to the FCC for funding this and for all of their support in the past.”
Ensuring kids are well fueled for the day by eating right is important and this is a step taken, which will aid in ensuring the best learning environment possible at CES.
Vanessa Kirkpatrick with FCC – Carlyle, added that this is part of a larger company directive, “FCC donated $1,000 to multiple schools across Canada and we were able to participate in that here in Carlyle.”
This donation came at a time as well, which involved FCC’s kick off of their Drive Away Hunger Campaign: “Today [Wednesday, Sept. 6] is also the launch of our Drive Away Hunger Campaign, which the Carlyle Elementary School has participated in with us for years,” Kirkpatrick said.
Working together is what community is about, thus the FCC and CES have formed a partnership over the years to help each other reach success.
