The city says it will release a new sponsorship package this fall for organizations interested in future naming rights opportunities.

WEYBURN – The city’s indoor arena has a new corporate identity after the City of Weyburn entered a one-year naming rights agreement with Whitecap Resources Inc.

The arena was previously known as Crescent Point Place.

“Whitecap Resources’ contribution supported our ability to maintain and operate one of Weyburn’s most used recreation facilities,” said Richard Henning, City of Weyburn director of leisure services. “It’s a good example of how local partnerships can strengthen the services we provide to the community.”

In a statement, Whitecap Resources said the investment is part of its broader commitment to the regions where it operates.

“At Whitecap Resources, we believe in building stronger communities by investing in the health and well-being of our youth,” said Grant Fagerheim, president and CEO of Whitecap Resources Inc.

“We’re proud to support the Weyburn community, creating more opportunities for children to be active, stay healthy, and develop lifelong skills through play and sport. We look forward to a great winter season at the arena and to continue our support of youth in the Weyburn area for years to come.”

The city says it will release a new sponsorship package this fall for organizations interested in future naming rights opportunities.
