Groups of families and friends had fun in the water in the indoor swimming pool at the Weyburn Leisure Centre on Thursday afternoon, as they escaped from the high wind chills and freezing temperatures outside which lasted from Christmas into New Year’s, and much of Canada was affected the same way. The Leisure Centre offered free swimming on Sunday afternoon, New Year’s Eve, for all city and area residents.
