Ed Komarnicki, Member of Parliament for Souris-Moose Mountain, on June 25 announced on behalf of the Honourable Diane Finley, Minister of Human Resources and Skills Development, and the Honourable Alice Wong, Minister of State (Seniors), that the Midale 39ers Seniors will receive $25,000 for their siding renovation project. This project was funded by the Government of Canada through the New Horizons for Seniors Program.

This siding renovation project includes installation of siding, insulation, facia and soffit, eavestroughing, and a door for the furnace room. The Midale 39ers Seniors have received funding for other projects under this program that included a new furnace, new chairs, and new flooring and windows.

"It was a pleasure to visit with the many seniors that came out for the event," said Komarnicki, "and it is certainly great to see the renovation project completed as it will preserve the centre for a long time to come."
