Terri-anne Wheeler has been battling cancer since 2019, and by now lost mobility and is living with a lot of pain, according to the GoFundMe campaign started to help her and the family.

BIENFAIT - A GoFundMe campaign has been started to help Terri-Anne Wheeler of Bienfait, who was diagnosed with stage 3 cervical cancer in the fall of 2019 and now has lost mobility and is living with severe pain, according to the campaign page.

Soon after Terri-Anne was diagnosed with cancer, she started chemotherapy and radiation treatments, which were unsuccessful.

Her husband Dallas Krupka organized the campaign, with a goal of $35,000, on Jan. 7.

“After her initial treatment, she needed nephrostomy tubes installed on both kidneys. Her mobility began to decline, but she found the strength to enjoy as much as she could with her daughters. She continued multiple different chemo treatments, which also were unsuccessful,” Krupka said in the campaign description.

He continued explaining that she was now unstaged. The cancer had moved to multiple lymphnodes; some were untreatable due to their location to vital areas. She was informed that cancer has moved into three of her lower vertebrae and pelvis. Her mobility began to decline through the past summer.

“A hospital bed was brought to our home along with other aids to make life easier for her. She's now considered palliative. The last few months have been the worst for her. They discovered a substantial clot in her leg which was being treated. She lost the use of her leg. They then discovered the reason for the pain and paralysis of that leg. A tumour pressing against her aorta and nerves. She's been in hospital since Boxing Day to get her pain under control and waiting for correction with her circulation to that leg. She's lost her mobility,” Krupka said.

“She's confined to a wheelchair or her bed. We need help. She can no longer get into a bathtub. She can no longer get in and out of a vehicle without a lot of assistance and incredible pain. From the beginning, I decided to be with her every step of the way. We have exhausted all our resources. I want her to be as comfortable as possible but financially can't make it happen. Any assistance is enormously appreciated. If financial help isn't affordable, please send prayers. We need those too. It's been an emotionally long strain on her, our daughters and myself. This experience is something no family should have to endure. Thank you so much,” Krupka said.

With 29 donations, as of Monday morning, the campaign has raised $2,520.
