A heat warning has been issued for the Estevan area for the first time this summer.
Environment Canada issued the warning at 4:03 a.m. Thursday.
Temperatures reaching 32 C, combined with overnight lows near 16 C, are expected for the next two days.
A hot air mass continues to spread across southern Saskatchewan, with daytime temperatures in the low 30s and overnight lows in the mid to high teens.
Slightly cooler temperatures will move into the southwest Friday and southeast Saturday, which is expected to bring an end to the warning level conditions.
People are asked to watch for the effects of heat illness: swelling, rash, cramps, fainting, heat exhaustion, heat stroke and the worsening of some health conditions.
A severe thunderstorm watch was issued at 10:27 a.m. Environment Canada said humid conditions and a trough of low pressure will bring scattered thunderstorms to southern Saskatchewan Thursday.
Some of these thunderstorms may become severe.
