Employees from RBC Royal Bank Weyburn branch celebrate community volunteerism through RBC's Day of Service Program earning $2,000 for The Family Place in Weyburn.
RBC employees assisted The Family Place with organizing and running their recent fundraising Garage Sale.
The Family Place received $2,000 from RBC as a result of Weyburn RBC Employee efforts through the RBC Day of Service grant program. RBC supports employee volunteerism through a variety of programs.
In celebration of Volunteer Month, teams of employees are encouraged between April and mid-June to give back to the federally registered charities in their community. As long as there are at least six people which can include three family members or friends, RBC Foundation will provide a $1,000 grant to the local charity for three hours of service.
In 2014, over 96 grants totaling $96,000 have been donated to community organizations within Saskatchewan through this program.
"We are proud to support The Family Place through active volunteerism because of the important roles this institution has in the lives of the children and families in this wonderful community," said Rodney Gill, Community Market Manager at RBC's Weyburn branch.
RBC supports the volunteer efforts of employees through programs and initiatives to foster a culture of giving. In addition to the RBC Day of Service Grant, employees and retirees who volunteer 40 hours or more for a charitable organization are eligible to receive $500 for the organization through the RBC Volunteer Grants Program.
The RBC Community Leadership Award recognizes and celebrates RBC employees in Saskatchewan for their outstanding leadership and commitment to making a positive difference in their communities through volunteerism throughout the year. RBC donates $1,000 to each winner's charity of choice.
