Holy Family Roman Catholic Separate School Division has announced the appointment of Keith Thompson to the position of Assistant Director of Education, effective August 1.

"I'm very much looking forward to it," said Thompson, who has been the principal at Humboldt Collegiate Institute for the past two years.

"This is a great way to expand my career, especially in an area that is undergoing booming growth like the southeast is," said Thompson.
"It's great to be part of the school system that is educating the students which will drive the growth," he added.

Thompson has a long history working in the education system, earning his Masters Degree in Education and working in school administration for the past 19 years. Education has brought Thompson across western Canada, working in northern B.C. before moving to Saskatchewan.

Through his studies and work experience Thompson has a lot of experience working with First Nations communities, special education students, and at-risk youth.

Thompson hopes to impart some of the wisdom he has gained over his long career in education to teachers and students in the school district.

"I hope I can bring some of that experience to teachers on how to relate to at-risk kids, and the challenges they face," said Thompson.

Thompson is family man himself with wife, Chantelle, son Matthew, and daughter Brie.
