The Holy Family Roman Catholic Separate School Division is holding their opening mass for the new school year, and will be doing the mass virtually from St. Vincent de Paul Church in Weyburn on Tuesday, Aug. 25.
The live-streamed mass will be presided over by Archbishop Donald Bolen, and will start at 9:30 a.m., with school staff to be taking part at each of their respective schools around the Holy Family division.
Lyndon Linklater has been invited to provide the opening blessing and message. The only staff who will be present at St. Vincent de Paul will be the central office staff, with all school staff at their facilities.
Following the mass, there will be the annual welcome messages provided by Archbishop Bolen, board of education chair Bruno Tuchscherer and director of education Gwen Keith.
A lunch will be served at each school site at 11:30 a.m., and RN Joan Pratchler will be doing a presentation at 1 p.m. about how to “work safely, teach safely and learn safely” with the best COVID practices for the schools.
The staff will do followup work at 2 p.m., and classes will be getting underway on Tuesday, Sept. 8.
