The owners Kenosee Superslides have received the news they’ve been waiting to hear: they will be able to open again Wednesday.

In a video posted to their Facebook page Tuesday afternoon, Jan Armstrong with the Superslides said they received their inspection on Tuesday, and the park will be allowed to open Wednesday morning.

Banzai slides, the twister slides and the kiddie slides will be able to open again, but the tube slides will have to remain closed.

“We’re hopefully going to get some more information on that later in the week,” said Armstrong.

The Superslides have been closed since Friday morning. Armstrong said any tickets will be refunded.

Since the Superslides were closed, there has been an outcry of support from the public. A petition was created on the change.org website to get them open again, and many have voiced their support for the attraction on social media.

The SHA said last week that it cancelled the operational licence for the site due to public health and safety reasons. In an email to the Mercury Tuesday afternoon, Doug Dahl, who works in community engagement and communications, said the SHA has granted a probationary licence to the Superslides for the operation of specific slides within the park. The owner has been informed of the terms of the [robationary licence and been advised of the process to appeal the decision and terms of the probationary licence.
