Kettle kickoff

The Salvation Army’s annual Christmas kettle campaign kicked off at City Hall. Mayor Marcel Roy gathered with donor Norm Mondor, campaign organizer Helen Orsted, Major Heather Harbin and Jennifer Lorinczy, Weyburn coordinator for the Salvation Army. Mondor provided the first donation for this year’s campaign in the amount of $20,000. The kettle campaign got underway on November 30, and will be in four store locations around Weyburn, including the Co-op food store, Wal-Mart, the Wholesale Club and the Liquor Board store at the mall. The campaign runs until Saturday, December 23, and volunteers are needed for two-hour time slots.
