Midale (cpd) — Beginning on Friday, January 2, the Midale Public Library will be open three days a week. The new hours will be as follows: Tuesdays 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., Thursdays from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 12:30 to 3 p.m. Residents are encourage to come out and borrow books, magazines, dvds or come in and use the computers.
Free public skating will be held on January 2, 3 and 4 from 2 to 4 p.m. The rink will be closed from December 29 through to January 1. It will reopen for regular business on Friday, January 2.
Long-time Midale resident, residing in Weyburn, Verna Druck passed away in Regina on Dec. 17 at the age of 61 years. Verna leaves behind her mother Evelyn Leas; her daughter Veronica (Ray) Dechief and their children; sons Derrick (Amanda) Druck and their daughter, and Dallas (Allie) Druck and their children; sister Brenda (Richard) Rimmer and her daughter; brother Arnold Leas and his children; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. A service of remembrance was held for Verna on Dec. 22 at the RD Funeral Chapel in Weyburn.
