Male, 19, dies in skateboard accident, police investigating

Police found that a 19-year-old male was unconscious due to a fall from a skateboard. He was transported by EMS to Regina but later passed away from a severe head injury. The incident is still under investigation.
City police received a complaint of someone breaking into the Junior High School on July 27. Police responded and arrested two males who were caught running out of the school. There was damage done to the doors and both males, in their 20’s, were charged with mischief and released for a later court date.
Police, as well as EMS, responded to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of First Avenue and Fifth Street on July 26. The vehicle travelling south on Fifth Street failed to stop at a red light and the vehicle travelling east on First Avenue struck the other vehicle in the intersection. There was extensive damage to both vehicles. All people involved were checked out at the scene by EMS but no one was transported to hospital. Both vehicles were towed from scene and one driver was charged with failing to stop for a red light.
Police responded to an accident at the corner of Third Street and Seventh Avenue on July 28. The vehicle travelling on Seventh Avenue failed to yield and struck the vehicle driving on Third Street. No injuries were reported and one vehicle had to be towed from the scene. The driver of the one vehicle was charged with fail to yield.
City police responded to a complaint of a break-and-enter to a residence in the south end of the city on July 26. Money and alcohol is reported as being stolen. The matter is still under investigation.
Weyburn police members responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence on the east side of the city on July 31. Police were able to mediate the situation and escorted an intoxicated male to a family member’s house to stay until sober. No charges were laid.
Police responded to numerous noise complaints throughout the week. Police want to remind residents to be mindful of their noise and respectful of your neighbors. The first offence is a $250 fine which will increase greatly if noise persists after first offence.
Weyburn police received a complaint of a family dispute which left an adult male with no place to stay and asking police for assistance on July 29. Police were able to mediate the situation and assisted in locating a ride to a family member’s home in Regina.
City police received a complaint of vandalism done to a side window of a parked vehicle on July 28. It appears the window was damaged by some type of glass breaking tool. The investigation is ongoing.
On July 27, police were called to a residence in Weyburn for a domestic disturbance. Police arrested a youth for assault, and the subsequent investigation determined the young offender had breached his earlier release conditions; he will appear in court later this month facing assault and breach of condition charges.
Police responded to a report of a domestic dispute on July 25, and upon arrival police were able to calm the situation down and assisted as a female left the residence. The matter remains under investigation.
