Masks and live action ‘Clue’ at Mardi Gras Gala fundraiser event

There is still time for residents to get tickets for the “one-of-a-kind” experience of the Mardi Gras Gala, organized by the Weyburn and District Hospital Foundation.

There is still time for residents to get tickets for the “one-of-a-kind” experience of the Mardi Gras Gala, organized by the Weyburn and District Hospital Foundation.
Typical sights of Mardi Gras will be featured during the evening, including masks and beads, dazzling outfits and live music during the evening.
During the cocktail hour, the Weyburn Comp jazz band will provide entertainment.
Then during dinner and throughout the rest of the evening, DJ Richy Roy will provide a musical backdrop.
The other features of the evening, which truly makes the event unique, is a live action “Clue” game, organized by Crocus 80 Theatre. In this game, the streets of New Orleans were witness to murder, and it will be up to those in attendance to determine who had the motive and the opportunity.
In this murder mystery scenario, Monsieur Pierre DuPre was strangled with an antique set of Mardi Gras beads.
Feathers were scattered about the billiards room where Mr. DuPre was found sprawled in front of a leather chair.
During the evening, characters will detail their involvement in the murder. The audience will have a chance to interact with the character, and take their guesses to the murderer before all is revealed.
Plus, there will be the added bonus of a few raffle prizes as well.
There will be a chance on the Canadian diamonds in ice, with two half-carat diamonds available to win.
The Mardi Gras Murder Mystery Gala will be held Friday, Feb. 5, at McKenna Hall. Tickets are $75 each and available from the Hospital Foundation office, Pharmasave, York Jewelers or Superior Office Products.
Cocktails begin at 6 p.m. with dinner starting at 7 p.m. Seating will be round tables of eight.
For further information, or to purchase tickets contact Melanie Sorenson at the Foundation office by emailing [email protected] or contact any foundation board member.
All proceeds go towards the building and equipping of a new hospital for Weyburn and area. Additional information can be found at www.wdhf.ca .
