Estevan Mayor Roy Ludwig is the first candidate to file his nomination papers for the 2020 civic election in Estevan.
Ludwig submitted his forms Tuesday at city hall.
He will be seeking a third term as Estevan’s mayor. He was first elected in 2012 and was re-elected in 2016. He defeated two other candidates in each election in convincing fashion.
Prior to becoming the mayor, he was a councillor from 1994-2012.
Nomination forms are now being accepted for mayor and councillor for Estevan city council, and for the Estevan trustee roles for the South East Cornerstone Public School Division and the Holy Family Roman Catholic Separate School Division.
The deadline to file forms is Oct. 7.
The civic election will be Nov. 9.
