Members of the Weyburn Police Service helped out Conservation officers pull a yearling moose on a tarp after it was tranquillized in Jubilee Park on Monday. The wayward moose most likely became disoriented in the heavy fog and found itself wandering around Jubilee Park until it bedded down for a couple of hours. A Conservation officer brought in from Regina used a tranquillizer gun to sedate the moose, which was then safely removed on a flatbed truck out of Weyburn and released back to the wild. The concern by the police and Conservation officers was that the moose would wander into traffic, with the busy Highway 13/First Avenue only a short distance away.
