This week is quite busy at the Weyburn Comp. For the first time in many years both of our senior basketball teams were successful at regionals and will advance to SHSAA provincials in Moose Jaw this Friday and Saturday.
The girls will play Moose Jaw Vanier in their first game at Vanier at 8 p.m. while the boys will play Saskatoon Bedford Road at Vanier at 6 o’clock.
The cheer and pom squad will be off to provincials in Saskatoon as well this weekend. This past weekend wrestlers from Weyburn competed in the SHSAA provincials in Saskatoon and Katelyn Franklin placed second in her weight category.
On Wednesday the WCS concert band will be competing in the Regina Optimist Band Festival.
On Thursday night the “Stars of the Festival” will take place in the Cugnet Centre starting at 7. Awards will be presented and some winners from the Weyburn Rotary Club Music Festival will perform. The public is invited.
Sunday and Monday evenings at 7 p.m. at the Douglas Centre the drama class will present “A Tale of Two Orphans”. This is a class project and highlights the music of two well-known musicals. Everyone interested is invited to attend.
Next Monday fruit purchased during the SRC fundraising event may be picked up in the mechanical shop at the west end of the school from 5-8 p.m.
