Weyburn & District Multicultural Council is holding their annual New Year's Potluck Supper on Sunday, February 16 at the Signal Hill Arts Centre at 4:30 p.m.
In celebration of Chinese Lunar New Year and February being Black History Month, the potluck supper aims to share cultural differences and similarities in addition to highlighting the accomplishments and contributions of the black community.
Everyone is welcome to the supper. Anyone interested in attending is asked to bring a cultural dish.
There will be a video presentation by the Multicultural Council of Saskatchewan about the Maidstone area colony of former slaves and freemen and women who came from the United States to homestead in Saskatchewan at the beginning of the 20th century.
Admission to the evening is free. There will be a 50/50 draw and memberships will be available for $5 per family or person.
