The number of active COVID-19 cases continues to decline in South East Zone 4, which includes Estevan.
The daily COVID-19 report for June 7 shows that there was no new COVID case in South East 4 and in the entire South East region. There were two more recoveries in Zone 4, leaving the area with 21 active cases.
The province reported 68 new cases of COVID-19.
Three new deaths were also reported today. One death was reported in the 60 to 69 age group in the North Central Zone, one death was reported in the 19 and under age group in the North West zone, and one death was reported in the 70 to 79 group, also in the North West zone.
The new cases for Saskatchewan are located in the following zones: Far North East, 2; North West, 12; North Central, 9; North East, 1; Saskatoon, 15; Central East, 13; Regina, 9; and South Central, 7.
Another 119 people have recovered, bringing the total number of recoveries to 45,736. Five of the new recoveries are from the South East.
A total of 1,142 cases are considered active, including 79 from the South East.
There are 102 people in hospital. Eighty-three people are receiving inpatient care, including one in the South East. Nineteen people are in intensive care, including one out-of-province transfers from Manitoba.
The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case number is 97 (7.9 per 100,000).
There were 1,265 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on June 5, including 26 from the South East.
An additional 8,628 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 809,400. The South East accounted for 1,024 doses.
Seventy-eight per cent of those over the age of 40 have received their first dose. Seventy-two per cent of those 30+ have received their first dose. Sixty-seven per cent of those 18+ have received their first dose, while sixty-five per cent of those 12+ have also received their first dose.
