No new cases of COVID-19 in Estevan area for the fourth day, one recovery

For the foutrh consecutive day, there are no new cases of COVID-19 in South East Zone 4, which includes Estevan, according to the daily report. There also was one recovery in Zone 4, leaving the total number of active cases at six.

There are three new cases to report in the South East region, all are in Weyburn’s Zone 3.

There are 74 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on June 16, bringing the provincial total to 48,125 cases.

The other new cases for Saskatchewan are located in the following zones: Far North West, 1; North West, 4; North Central, 5; North East, 4; Saskatoon, 16; Central West, 4; Central East, 6; Regina, 29; South West, 1; and South Central, 1.

Two news deaths were reported today.  One death was reported in the 80+ age group from the North West Zone and one death was reported in the 70 to 79 age group from the Central East zone.

Forty-eight people in the South East and 562 people in Saskatchewan with COVID-19 have died.

Another 76 people have recovered, bringing the total number of recoveries to 46,837. Two of the new recoveries are from the South East region.

A total of 726 cases are considered active, including 32 in the South East.

There are 92 people in hospital, including two receiving inpatient care in the South East. Eighty people in Saskatchewan are receiving inpatient care and 12 people are in intensive care.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case number is 72 (5.9 per 100,000).

There were 2,140 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on June 15, including 77 in the South East. 

An additional 12,013 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, including 633 in the South East, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 922,335. There are 18,011 people in the South East region that are fully vaccinated.

Seventy-nine per cent of those over the age of 40 have received their first dose. Seventy-four per cent of those 30+ have received their first dose.  Sixty-nine per cent of those 18+ have received their first dose, while sixty-seven per cent of those 12+ have also received their first dose.
