Nominations are now open for Quota International of Weyburn’s Women of the Year Awards, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year with special guest Tenille Arts at the awards banquet.
There have been nearly 80 award recipients since the program began in 2001, with more than 225 talented local women recognized for their contributions to the community. In the photo above are the group of nominees for the 2019 Women of the Year Awards.
Nominations are open in four categories, including the Weyburn Credit Union Workplace Excellence Award, M. Isabelle Butters Quota International of Weyburn Community Service Award, Access Communications Exceptional Entrepreneur Award, and the Harbourfront Wealth Management Young Woman of Distinction Award.
Forms for nominations are available at the Weyburn Credit Union reception desk, or online here.
The deadline for entries is Friday, March 6, and the awards luncheon will be held on Wednesday, April 8, at McKenna Hall. Tickets for the awards luncheon will go on sale to the public on March 24.
If anyone has questions about nominations or the process, contact nominations committee members Karla Kennedy or Theresa Girardin.
Funds raised from this event are returned to the community through donations to the Sunrise Early Learning and Teen Support Centre, Weyburn Special Care Home, the Salvation Army, Envision Counselling, Weyburn Care-A-Van and many others.
The Quota also supports hearing and speech through donations of FM hearing systems to schools, daycares and long-term care centres, and they support a Southeast College scholarship and an award at the Weyburn Music Festival. The Quota has also supported the Festival of Carols for the past 66 years.
