The number of active cases for South East Zone 4, which includes Estevan, is now at its lowest level in nearly three months.
There was one new case of the virus in South East Zone 4, according to the June 12 provincial report, but three more recoveries, leaving Zone 4 with nine active cases. It's believed to be the lowest number of active cases since mid-March.
There was also one new case in South East Zone 1, which is northwest of Zone 4, and two new cases in Zone 2, which is north of Zone 4.
There are 106 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on June 12, bringing the provincial total to 47,875 cases.
The other new cases are located in the following zones: Far North West, 3; Far North East, 1; North West, 19; North Central, 17; North East, 2; Saskatoon, 29; Central West, 5; Central East, 3; Regina,10; South West, 3; and South Central, 8. Two cases are pending residence information.
One new death is being reported today in the 80+ age group from the North West zone. A total of 555 people with COVID-19 have died in Saskatchewan.
Another 135 people have recovered, bringing the total number of recoveries to 46,446. Seven of the new recoveries are from the South East region.
A total of 874 cases are considered active, including 44 from the South East.
There are 96 people in hospital, including two in the South East region. The number of people in hospital in the South East is up one from June 11. Both people are receiving inpatient care.
There are 79 people receiving inpatient care in Saskatchewan, and 17 are in intensive care. None of the intensive care patients are from Manitoba.
The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case number is 79 (6.5 per 100,000).
There were 2,159 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on June 11, including 107 from the South East.
An additional 18,014 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 878,665. Included in that total were 790 in the South East.
Seventy-nine per cent of those over the age of 40 have received their first dose. Seventy-three per cent of those 30+ have received their first dose. Sixty-eight per cent of those 18+ have received their first dose, while sixty-six per cent of those 12+ have also received their first dose.
