One person is facing charges, including assaulting a police officer, following a traffic stop in Estevan Friday.
The Estevan Police Service reported the traffic stop occurred on Valley Street. As a result, a 67-year-old man is facing charges of assault of a peace officer and resisting arrest. He was lodged in cells and will appear in court in November to answer to the charges.
Also on Friday, police received a report of harassing communication being received by a female and her parents. Statements will be obtained and the matter will be investigated.
Members received a report of a male fraudulently registering a vehicle in another person’s name. The matter is under investigation.
A driving complaint was received regarding a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed in a residential neighbourhood. Increased traffic enforcement will be conducted in the area. The public is encouraged to report these dangerous driving actions to police and to try and obtain as much information as possible, including the vehicle description (make, model and colour) and licence plate number.
Police received a complaint of a hit and run outside a local business. The matter is still under investigation.
