Pangman (cpd) - All 120 tickets were sold for the Fire and EMS Appreciation supper that was held at the Pangman School gym on Oct. 25. A Pangman resident won the ring. Keith Howse and Barry Kessler spoke to the audience about the ambulance service. Judy and K5 entertained the group with music.
Charity Farms finished harvesting the canola field south of Pangman on Oct. 16 with a few combines rolling.
On Oct. 25 a baby girl, Jenna Susanne, was born at the Regina General Hospital to Sean and Crystal Kessler. Grandparents are Clayton and Lorrie Kessler of Pangman. Great-grandparents are Keith and Yvonne Kessler from Regina; Don and Florence Kaufmann from Ceylon; Glenda Alered from Fort Qu' Appelle and Ann Roberts from Weyburn.
On Saturday, Nov. 8 there will be a 90th birthday celebration for Theresa Ball at the Community Centre from 2 until 4 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Warm weather has helped farmers finish up with the fall harvest. There are still a few fields of flax left, but overall harvest is 98 per cent complete.
The last day of flu shots in Pangman will be held at the Health Centre on Thursday, Nov. 13. No appointment is necessary. Please remember to wear a short sleeved top.
On Oct. 28, seven residents of the Deep South Personal Care Home participated in their weekly 10-frame bean bag tournament. Muriel Horner placed first with a score of 50 points, Gerry Taylor placed second with a score of 49 points, and Mary Spooner placed third with a score of 48 points.
The Pangman, Ogema, and Bengough United Church has hired Marie Barr as the new DLM minister. She moved into the Ogema manse on Oct. 25 with many helping her get settled in.
On Oct. 29, six residents of the Deep South Personal Care Home participated in their weekly 10-frame bowling tournament. Gerry Taylor placed first with a score of 138 points; Muriel Horner placed second with a score of 81 points; and Ted Knudsen placed third with a score of 76 points.
Gloria Vogel was the Walkathon winner at the Deep South Personal Care Home.
A pumpkin contest was held at the Deep South Personal Care Home over the month of October.
All residents, family and friends took part in guessing how many pumpkin seeds a pumpkin held.
There were 288 seeds in the pumpkin, with Vi Kessler and Mary Ellen Schneikart guessing the closest amount at 244.
On Oct. 25 many friends and relatives from Alberta and Saskatchewan attended the come and go reception held at the Khedive Hall for Lorne William Schwindt, age 87, who passed away on Oct. 17. Interment will be held at a later date.
