A special “Paws on the Puck” fundraising event will mark National Adoption Weekend on Saturday, April 16.
The fundraising event will be held at the City Centre Mall parking lot from 1 to 3 p.m. (or inside the Mall in case of inclement weather).
Organized by Pet Valu Weyburn, this event will raise money for the Weyburn Humane Society.
They have partnered with Weyburn RBC and Jessica Campbell, who is an RBC Olympic Gold medalist and member of the Canadian National Women’s Hockey Team.
Jessica is going to demonstrate how to shoot on the net and give some professional hockey advice. She will even have her gold medal available for photo opportunities.
RBC’s mascot Leo the Lion will be attending the event, as well as Patches, the Dog from Pet Valu. Children will get to choose if they want Leo or Patches in the net for shots on goal.
All ages are welcome to participate. All participants will be asked to purchase a paper paw for Pet Appreciation Month. All proceeds from the paper paws will be donated to the Weyburn Humane Society.
