Police arrest, charge a couple with offences

The Weyburn Police Service were contacted by a local business on July 17, regarding two suspicious people who were believed to have committed offences in numerous other locations in the store chain.

The Weyburn Police Service were contacted by a local business on July 17, regarding two suspicious people who were believed to have committed offences in numerous other locations in the store chain.
As the result of the investigation one 31-year-old male and a 26-year-old female were arrested and taken into custody. They now stand charged with numerous offences and were both remanded in custody for Court in Weyburn on July 19.
The Weyburn Police were busy with a number of service calls during the period of July 11 to 17.
Also on July 17, the police located and stopped a vehicle, as the result of a call. The 22-year-old male driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol and was arrested. He was charged with impaired driving.
During a service call on July 16, the patrol members of the police encountered a vehicle that was believed to have a stolen licence plate on it. The vehicle was stopped and the occupants arrested. Now charged are two residents from Alberta; a 19-year-old male and a 22-year-old male.
The Weyburn Police were advised of a vehicle fire in a semi on July 15, that was travelling through the City of Weyburn. The fire was able to be controlled prior to the arrival of the Fire Department. In an unrelated matter later that day the police were called to another vehicle fire that was able to be controlled prior to the arrival of the Fire Department.
The Weyburn Police received a call regarding a domestic disturbance between a 37-year-old female and a 39-year-old male. The matter was mediated for the time being. Alcohol was a contributing factor.
Police received a call regarding mischief to two yards in the 400 block of Third Avenue northwest on July 13, where lawns were driven over by a vehicle.

Police staff received a call regarding a domestic matter involving threats being made on July 12. After investigation the accused was located and arrested. The 33-year-old male has been charged with uttering threats and will make a court appearance in the future.
While engaged in duties at the Weyburn Police Station office, a member noted a person whom was recognized to be on court ordered conditions to be violating them. The 20-year-old male was arrested and charged with breach of undertaking. He will be making a court appearance in the future.
The police received a call regarding mischief done to vehicles parked in the 100 block of Third Street on July 12. It appears that silly string was used to cover these vehicles. As the result of a traffic stop on July 11, a 61-year-old female was arrested and has been charged with impaired driving.
