Police arrest two men for B&E into home with guns

City police responded to a complaint of two male subjects breaking into a residence with firearms, in the South Hill area of Weyburn in the early morning hours around 1:30 a.m. on Monday.

The victim was able to notify the police that the subjects were still in the residence. Police responded and arrested the two suspects; a 39-year-old man from Estevan area and a 31-year-old man from the Fillmore area were taken into custody without incident and are facing a number of serious charges including weapons offences. They are being held pending court.

The police responded to a report of a two-vehicle traffic collision on Warren Avenue at 16th St. on Apr. 30.

Investigation revealed that a vehicle had been travelling east on Warren Avenue and had stopped at the stop sign. The vehicle then left the stop sign colliding with a vehicle on 16th Street. There were no injuries. A 38-year-old female was issued a ticket for leaving the stop sign before safe.

The WPS responded to a domestic dispute between a 47-year-old woman and a 43-year-old man on Apr. 30. The matter was mediated without need for further police involvement. Alcohol was a contributing factor.

The WPS are investigating a theft of property from a motor vehicle on May 1.

The WPS were called to a report of a vehicle collision involving some towed overwidth farm machinery and another vehicle on May 1.

The WPS were called to a fight in progress outside a local pub on May 2. Upon arrival they found one of the combatants to be highly intoxicated. A 24-year-old man was arrested for drunk in public. As a result of his arrest a small amount of cocaine was found in his possession.

The WPS responded to a domestic dispute involving a 31-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman on May 2. The matter was resolved without need for further police involvement.
