The Weyburn Police Service received a report of what may best be characterized as a road rage incident at about 1 p.m. on Saturday. Upon investigation, a 19-year-old male has been charged with assault with a weapon. This appears to be an isolated incident and no one was injured in this case. This should serve to remind all motorists that while at times driving can be a frustrating task, at no time should a driver consider taking the law into their own hands.
Weyburn police received a complaint that a vehicle parked in the west-central area of the city had the tires slashed on Wednesday. This would have happened during the night/early morning hours. City police received a report that about 3:25 p.m. on Thursday, an approximately 20-year-old male in the area of the 200 block of Third Street N.E. was seen walking and carrying a large knife or sword. The Weyburn Police Service are seeking to identify this individual to determine that public safety is not an issue and no criminal action was present. The Weyburn police received a complaint of a theft of credit cards from a residence on Oct. 23. As a result of the investigation, a 21-year-old male has been charged with being unlawfully in a dwelling house as well as numerous credit card offences.
City police received a complaint on Oct. 24 regarding a domestic situation where threats had been uttered. As a result of the investigation, a 17-year-old female has been charged with uttering threats.
Weyburn police were dispatched to a local bar regarding an unruly patron at about 11:05 p.m. on Oct. 24. As a result of the investigation, a 36-year-old female has been charged with assault.
As a result of a vehicle stop on Wednesday, an 18-year-old male was found to be present in the vehicle and in violation of a curfew imposed by the court. He is now facing a breach of undertaking charge.
As the result of a vehicle check at 5:55 a.m. on Sunday, city police conducted a roadside breath test on a 31-year-old male driver. As a result, the driver was issued a 72-hour vehicle suspension.
