The Weyburn Police Service has received a few complaints regarding snowmobiles being operated in the City limits.
Please be aware that snowmobiles may only be operated either on the Souris River itself, not the grassed areas, but the actual ice of the river, or on specially designated ditches. Please check with the Police Service for exactly where you can legally operate your snowmobile.
The Weyburn Police Service is investigating a report of the theft of a trailer on Jan. 4. This appears to be related to an ongoing domestic issue.
The Weyburn police received a report of a suspicious vehicle at about 5:14 a.m. on Jan. 5. The vehicle was located and the driver identified.
As a result of the stop a 63-year-old male from Alberta was arrested for being in possession of a vehicle that had been stolen in Alberta some time ago. He is being held in custody in Regina and is facing charges both in Weyburn and in Alberta.
As the result of a traffic stop around 11:20 p.m. on Jan. 5, a 42-year-old male was arrested and has been charged with driving over .08.
The Weyburn police were called to a collision of two vehicles in the 100 block of Souris Avenue on Thursday. Both vehicles were drivable and no injuries were reported.
A resident in the 300 block of Second Street NE reported that a window in his house had been shot with what appeared to be a pellet gun on Thursday evening around 9:40 p.m.

The Weyburn police were called to a local bar regarding an intoxicated male who did not want to leave on Friday. Upon police arrival they escorted a 39-year-old male to his hotel without further incident.
City police received a report of a vehicle being driven erratically in the Bison Avenue area at about 8 p.m. on Saturday. The vehicle was located and the 38-year-old driver cautioned about his driving action.
The Weyburn police were called to a bar in regards to two males who were fighting on Sunday. Upon police arrival a 33-year-old male and a 42-year-old male had made amends. Each were asked to leave the bar. There were no further incidents.
City police received a report of a suspicious person in the common area of an apartment building on Saturday.
Upon arrival they located a 52-year-old female resident of the building who was found to be quite intoxicated.
The police assisted her to her apartment.
