Weyburn Police Service are investigating a break and enter of a garage that had occurred within the last month in the northeast side of the city.
Police are investigating a report of a break and enter of a shop in the city's northeast where alcohol was stolen.
Police received two separate reports of break and enter from residents of the northeast area of the city, after the victims had found their garages had been entered and cigarettes and alcohol had been stolen. The subsequent investigation resulted in two youth being arrested and charged with both break and enters and breach of probation. They were released and will make their court appearances in June.
A 17-year-old has been charged with stunting after police received a call of an erratic driver near the Comp School where a vehicle was observed fishtailing and doing donuts on May 25.
Police attended a complaint of an intoxicated female who was causing problems with a local taxi driver on May 25. Police were able to calm the situation and eventually were able to assist in getting the female to her home. No charges were laid in the incident.
A two vehicle accident in the Home Hardware parking lot was reported to police on May 24. No charges were laid and no one was injured in the accident.
Police would like to remind residents about fraudulent letters, emails or phone calls. These are an attempt to get personal information or to have money sent in the mail. Residents who receive such a letter or email should contact police and are advised not give out personal information or forward money to someone you do not know.
This reminder comes after police received a report on May 23 of a letter being received by a local resident advising them they could be the beneficiary of a sizeable sum of money as no living next of kin could be located.
On May 21, Police received a report of an assault from a 24 year old female. The assault had occurred early in the day by a person known to the victim. Police continue to investigate the incident.
Police received a report of a robbery with violence after learning a 30-year old-male had been assaulted and had personal property stolen from him on May 21. The incident remains under investigation.
On May 19, in the early morning hours police attended to a disturbance in a downtown apartment. Police found two individuals who were having a disagreement. It was learned that during the incident some property had been damaged. Police separated the two individuals and one individual left for the remainder of the night. No charges were laid in the incident.
Police were alerted to an impaired driver after a local resident who was driving on Government Road was almost hit by another vehicle around 10 p.m. on May 19. When the suspect stopped their vehicle the individual who had almost been hit got out of their vehicle and took the keys from the offending driver. Police attended to Government Road and Souris Avenue where a 45-year-old male was arrested and charged with impaired driving, over .08 along with having open liquor in a vehicle. The accused will make his first appearance in court later in June.
