Police investigate gunshots at city house

The Weyburn Police Service received a number of complaints of what were reported as gunshots in the area of Albert Street and Hartney Avenue at about 3 a.m. on Monday. Police attended but could find nothing out of the ordinary at that time.

The Weyburn Police Service received a number of complaints of what were reported as gunshots in the area of Albert Street and Hartney Avenue at about 3 a.m. on Monday. Police attended but could find nothing out of the ordinary at that time.
At about noon the same day the owner of a house in the area reported that the house had suffered damage from gunshots. The Weyburn police cordoned off the area for a short time to allow the Weyburn police’s Forensic Identification Section to gather evidence.
It appears that a number of shots were fired at a vacant residence. At this time the Weyburn Police Service are actively investigating the incident. To their knowledge no one was injured.

Police are investigating a report of a stolen vehicle on June 14. The vehicle was parked at the Comp School lot when taken. It was recovered a short distance away on Douglas Road. City police received a report of a person who was bitten by a dog at about 4:50 p.m. on June 14. This happened in the area of the 600 block of Bison Avenue. The person required medical attention. It is important that the owner of the dog identify themselves to the police so that the health and vaccination status of the dog can be verified. The dog is described as a black pitbull-terrier cross.
Police received a report of a male who was walking on Montgomery Crescent wearing only his underwear at about 2:15 a.m. on Wednesday. A short time later the male was reported to be completely nude. No one could be located in the area. If anyone may know who this person is the Weyburn Police would appreciate a call. From the circumstances it is possible that there is an area resident who is possibly suffering from a medical or mental health issue.
City police received a call of a domestic dispute in progress at about 10:30 a.m. on Thursday. Upon attending they found a 19-year-old female and involved in a heated argument with a 21-year-old male. Both people agreed to go separate ways for the day and police had no further involvement with them.
The Weyburn police received a report of a hit-and-run collision in the parking lot of a downtown food store around 1:45 p.m. on Thursday. The suspect vehicle is a silver-coloured Ford Edge SUV being driven by a female. City police responded to a report of a male trying to gain entry to a residence at about 10:15 p.m. on Thursday. Upon arrival and sorting things out it appears that the 49-year-old male and 50-year-old female were having a domestic dispute. The people agreed to separate for the evening to allow cooler heads to prevail. No further police involvement was necessary.
The Weyburn police received a report of an unresponsive male in a vehicle at about 7 a.m. on Saturday. Upon attending and confirming that the person was not in medical distress, a 40-year-old male was taken into custody and is facing charges of impaired care and control and possession of marijuana.
City police received a report  of damage being done to a vehicle at about 10 a.m. on Saturday. As a result of the investigation a 34-year-old male has been charged with mischief.
Police received a report of a suspicious male person at about 8:25 p.m. on Saturday. The male person was identified by police and was lost, and was taken to a relative’s residence. Alcohol was a contributing factor.
City police received a report of two males who were fighting on a street At about 11:30 p.m. on Saturday. Investigation determined that the two were brothers and became involved in a heated argument over family matters, which then spilled over into the street.
City police received a report of a suspicious person sleeping on a bench on the mall lot at about 6:40 p.m. on Sunday. The male was identified and given a ride to his mother’s house. Alcohol was a contributing factor.
