The Weyburn Police Service are investigating a report of break-ins and mischief to the buildings at Tom Laing Park. A number of items from the concession were taken, including alcohol and Weyburn Beavers merchandise. The matter is actively under investigation.

The Weyburn police were dispatched to a report of a medical emergency at the Don Mitchell paddling pool on Aug. 2. A six-year-old child was the victim of a near drowning. Due to the quick actions of some other patrons the boy was retrieved from the water and provided with what may have been life-saving first aid. The child was transported to the hospital for assessment.
Although the paddling pool has a staff member on duty there is no lifeguard. Parents are urged to be extra diligent when at the pool and to never leave young children unattended when in the water.
City police responded to a report of an injured male on the street in a residential neighborhood In the early morning hours on July 31. Police found that a 19-year-old male was unconscious due to a fall from a skateboard. He was transported by EMS to Regina but later passed away from a severe head injury. The incident is still under investigation.
City police received a complaint about damage to a vehicle parked in the 300 block of Second Avenue SE. At this time there are no suspects.
City police received a call about two vehicles in the Scott Crescent area having been vandalized by being egged on Wednesday. Anyone with information on these two incidents are being asked to contact the Weyburn Police Service or to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
City police responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Fourth Avenue South on Aug. 2. The investigation revealed that one of the vehicles which was thought to have been in park rolled down the incline colliding with another vehicle. There were no injuries.
Weyburn police were dispatched to a residence regarding a 30-year-old male who was threatening self-harm Just after midnight on Wednesday. The person was taken into custody without incident for being intoxicated in public and held in cells until sober.
City police received a call regarding a homeowner who had threatened a door-to-door salesperson on Friday. Although the victim did not wish anything formal to be done the homeowner was spoken to and advised that his conduct did constitute a criminal offence and that he could be charged. While emotions can run high in these door-to-door events, police urge people to remember that they can easily become the suspect in a criminal investigation if threats are uttered or a salesperson is assaulted.
Weyburn police were dispatched to the business area on the east side of the City regarding a suspicious male just after midnight on Saturday. A 52-year-old male was located and was arrested for being intoxicated in public. He was held in cells until sober.
City police were dispatched to a report of a domestic dispute in progress at about 4 a.m. on Saturday. Upon arrival the police learned the victim had fled the scene. A 39-year-old male was subsequently charged with assaulting the 37-year-old victim as well as being charged with breaching a court order. The following day the accused was found to be breaching the current release document and was arrested. He was held until a court appearance on Tuesday in Weyburn provincial court.
City police were dispatched to a report of a domestic dispute in progress on Sunday evening. Upon attending they found that a 26-year-old female and a 43-year-old male were arguing over family issues. The male agreed to remove himself from the residence until things cooled down. There was no further need for police involvement.
