Weyburn police received numerous complaints on Sunday of vehicles having been rummaged through and garages having been entered in the central area of the city. The matter is still under investigation and police have identified some persons of interest in this matter.
• Weyburn police received a complaint on Friday regarding a potential fraud from an Internet sales site. The person was diligent and had not suffered any loss. This once again underscores the importance of being careful about any transactions on-line.
• Police received numerous calls again on various telephone and Internet scams. As always, police ask residents to be vigilant about who they do business with.
• Weyburn police were dispatched to a residence regarding an adult female who was attempting self-harm at about 10:35 p.m. on Feb. 20. Police also learned that the woman had been involved in a domestic assault earlier in the evening. She was transported to the Weyburn General Hospital for assessment and has also been charged with assault offences.
• City police were called to deal with an unruly patient at a health care facility on Wednesday. As a result, the adult woman was arrested and was charged with uttering threats.
• City police conducted a traffic stop on a speeding vehicle on Friday. As the result of that stop, a 36-year-old woman was arrested and has been charged with driving over .08. Her licence has been suspended indefinitely and her vehicle was impounded.
• City police conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle being driven by a 50-year-old man at about 10:15 p.m. on Sunday. As a result of the stop, the driver was issued a 21-day licence suspension, and the vehicle was impounded as well.
• Weyburn police assisted with a youth who was suffering from suspected illicit drug issues on Monday.
