Police investigate vehicle mischief

The Weyburn police received a report of mischief done to a vehicle parked in the 300 block of Fourth Street on Saturday. In this incident the victim found that some wheel nuts had been loosened. The matter is still under investigation.

The Weyburn police received a report of mischief done to a vehicle parked in the 300 block of Fourth Street on Saturday. In this incident the victim found that some wheel nuts had been loosened. The matter is still under investigation. Aside from this being an offence of mischief, there could have been serious or fatal consequences had the vehicle been driven and involved in an accident.

• The Weyburn police assisted in the execution of a warrant issued pursuant to the Youth Detoxification and Stabilization Act by arresting a 16-year-old male youth on Nov. 22 and transporting him to Regina where he was assessed. He will be housed in a secure youth facility pursuant to that Act.
• The Weyburn Police Service are warning people to be cautious regarding yet another scam that has surfaced. In this particular scam the intended victim receives an email purportedly from Canada Post regarding a missed delivery. Please note that Canada Post does not conduct business in this manner.
• City police received a report of damage to property in the 600 block of King Street at about 11:15 a.m. on Thursday. The suspect was observed to damage a blow-up Santa. The suspect is described as a male, early late teens to early 20’s, dark hair, wearing a red jacket. Anyone with information on this is asked to contact the Weyburn police, or to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
• The Weyburn police received a call of a residential break-and-enter on Thursday where a small amount of money was stolen. The matter is still under investigation.
• The Weyburn police – CTSS Unit conducted a roadside vehicle stop at about 12:25 a.m. on Wednesday. As a result, a 23-year-old male was issued a 72-hour licence suspension.
• City police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance between a 50-year-old male and a 51-year-old female at about 9 p.m. on Friday. The matter was able to be mediated without any further need for police involvement.
• Weyburn police received a call to a local pub regarding a 22-year-old male who was causing issues on Saturday. The matter was eventually resolved with the male accepting a taxi ride to his residence.
• City police were dispatched to a report of an assault in progress at about 4 a.m. on Saturday. Initially it appeared that a 22-year-old male had been assaulted by two 19-year-old males. After further investigation it was determined that the matter was a consensual play fight among friends that got slightly out of hand. This resulted in the 22-year-old male being transported to the hospital for injuries he received.
• City police were dispatched to a report of a break-and-enter at about 5:45 p.m. on Saturday. Upon arrival it was determined to be a dispute among occupants of the residence. However, a 28-year-old male was taken into custody for being intoxicated in public and was released once he was sober.
• The Weyburn police were dispatched to a residence in the 800 block of Fifth Street NE for a report of a domestic assault at about noon on Sunday. After speaking with both people involved, the matter was considered concluded with no further police involvement required.
