Criminal Record Checks
As a result in changes to Federal RCMP policy and fees, as well as local policy, a new process for Criminal Record Checks was implemented by the Weyburn Police Service effective January 15, 2015. A fee structure change at the Federal level and the implementation of new digital fingerprint technology has necessitated an increase in fees. Checks, for other than volunteers, will be increased to a maximum of $75.00. Part of this fee is collected on behalf of the Federal Government, over which we have no control. Local fees have not increased since 2009 but the time it takes to process them has increased significantly. This will be partly reflected in the new fee at the local level. We will continue to process legitimate Volunteer applications for no fee. However, applicants claiming Volunteer status must provide a letter from their volunteer organization requesting the check.
