On December 28, the Weyburn Police Service received a report of a fight at a local pub. Just as the police arrived, one of the combatants was reported to be driving away and was stopped. As a result of the stop, a 33 year-old male was arrested and charged with impaired driving. The assault is still under investigation.
Also on December 28, the Weyburn PS were called to a residence regarding a domestic assault. Upon arrival, it was determined that a 23 year-old female had arrived home from a night of socializing and was confronted by a 20 year-old sibling, resulting in an assault on the female. The female left with a family member. Alcohol was a factor in the incident. No charges will be laid.
On December 27, the Weyburn Police Service received a 911 call about a residential break and enter in progress. Upon attending, a very intoxicated 28 year-old male was found to have erred in the address he was looking for. He was arrested for being intoxicated in public and lodged in cells.
Also on December 27, while on patrol, a Member of the Weyburn PS came across two 33 year-old males engaged in a heated argument. One of the men was given a ride to a residence and the matter was concluded without further need for police intervention.
On December 27, the Weyburn Police Service were dispatched to a local fight, to a report of a fight. Upon arrival, the fight seemed to be concluded. However, while attempting to determine the nature of the incident, a 32 year-old male believed to have been initially involved in the altercation, became combative with the police and had to be forcibly taken into custody. The matter is still under investigation.
Also on December 27, the Weyburn PS were dispatched to a report of a domestic assault. The incident involved a 43 year-old male and a 31 year-old female victim. The matter is still under investigation.
Further on December 27, the Weyburn PS received a report that a vehicle had just struck a fire hydrant in the 500 Block of Dieppe Drive and fled the scene. The vehicle is described as a light blue or turquoise coloured 4x4 older model extended cab truck with a 4x4 sticker in the rear window. The vehicle was being driven by a younger male with another younger male passenger. One had on a bright yellow shirt. Anyone having information on this incident is asked to contact the Weyburn PS or Crime Stoppers.
On December 26, the Weyburn Police Service received a call from a 21 year-old family member asking that his 19 year-old sister be removed from the family residence. The 19 year-old agreed to leave with police without further incident.
Also on December 26, the Weyburn PS were dispatched to a report of a residential fire in the Weyburn Trailer Court. The matter is being investigated by the Weyburn Fire Department but is not believed to be suspicious at this time. All occupants of the residence were able to escape. Tragically some family pets fell victim to the fire.
On December 25, the Weyburn PS received a report of an assault in progress. Upon investigation, it was determined that a 39 year-old male had assaulted his 63 year-old father. Due to the circumstances, no charges are being pursued and the matter is concluded.
On December 24, the Weyburn Police Service received a report of a truck having been stolen from a residence on First Avenue S.W. The vehicle is described as a brown 2004 Chev Silverado with Saskatchewan plate number 897 JLW. Anyone having information with regards to the theft or the location of the vehicle is asked to contact either the Weyburn PS or Crime Stoppers.
