A male and a female attended a local business and purchased approximately $1,800 in clothing using a credit card on Oct. 20. Staff determined that the purchases were fraudulent and contacted the Weyburn Police Service. The incident is under investigation.
The same day, several purchases were made at a local off-sale liquor store using a credit card, the amount approximately $1,500. The transactions were found to be fraudulent and the Weyburn Police Service was contacted. The incident is under investigation.
Police responded to a break-and-enter at a north area Weyburn residence on Saturday. A safe containing cash and documents were stolen as well as some electronics. The break-in and theft is under investigation.
A female was walking her dog down the street in the North area of the city to pick up her mail on Oct. 20. An unleashed dog ran at the victim and as she picked up her own dog she was bit in the arm and on the back. The wounds of the victim required medical treatment at the hospital. A 38-year-old female was charged with having a dangerous dog under the Municipal Bylaw and is scheduled to appear in court later this month.
City police received a complaint from a 51-year-old male on Oct. 21, stating that diesel fuel had been stolen from his semi tractor unit on a number of occasions. An investigation into this matter is ongoing.
Police responded to a complaint of a domestic dispute at an apartment building on Oct. 23. Attending officers found that a 24-year-old male and a 27-year-old female were having an argument. The situation was mediated with no charges being laid.
Police received a report that a GPS unit had been stolen from a parked truck on Oct. 23. Police are investigating the theft.
A male suspect was observed spray-painting a patrol car and had also spray-painted the Weyburn Police Service building on Saturday. The male fled on foot and attempts to locate him were unsuccessful.
A 21-year-old male attended Weyburn Police Service on Saturday and reported that his vehicle had been spray-painted. An investigation was initiated, and it is believed that this incident is related to other recent graffiti occurrences.
The police stopped a vehicle that had been driving erratically in the NE area of Weyburn on Saturday. A 25-year-old male was arrested for impaired driving. He was subsequently charged with impaired driving and driving while over .08. He was later released from custody and will appear in court later.
Police received a complaint about a suspicious male ringing door bells at an apartment building on Saturday. Police attended and learned that the man had been through three apartment buildings. The male could not be located and it does not appear that anything was stolen or damaged.
Police received a complaint from a 29-year-old female reporting there was a male passed out in her residence on Sunday. Police attended and arrested a 21-year-old male. He was lodged in police cells until sober.
Meanwhile, the Milestone RCMP is asking for the public’s assistance about a recent theft in the Milestone area. Overnight from Saturday into Sunday, unknown suspect(s) travelled through Milestone and tried the doors on vehicles to see if they were unlocked, with cash and valuables being stolen.
No vehicles were stolen and none were damaged. The RCMP has received over 30 reports of similar incidents in the area south of Regina down to Coronach.
