Report from the Weyburn Police Service for the week of February 20 to 27:
During the reporting period, police handled 90 calls for service. The winter conditions moving into the area contributed to several traffic accidents. None of the accidents resulted in any injuries.
*Police are asking the public for assistance in finding a male. Jordan Kehler was last seen on February 20, 2012 around noon getting on a bus to Regina. Kehler is described as 6'1", long curly dirty blonde hair, blue eyes. If anyone has any information regarding the whereabouts of Jordan, please contact the Weyburn City Police.
*On February 26, police attended the Royal Hotel for a mischief call. A male patron moved a security camera, changing the direction of view. The issue was resolved.
*On February 25, police attended to a complaint at Detours bar. A man was intoxicated and damaged a truck, which, it turned out, belonged to the intoxicated man. He was taken home and will be responsible for the damage.
*Police attended a noise complaint on Laing Crescent.
*Police apprehended an impaired driver. The results of his breath tests dictated a 24 hour suspension.
*Police are investigating someone throwing beer bottles at an apartment. At the same time, a resident's vehicle was keyed, causing a lot of damage.
*Police were called to Government Road and Hwy 39 for a Motor Vehicle Accident. No one was injured when a SUV could not stop in time and rear ended a semi-trailer. The driver of the SUV was given a ticket for travelling too fast for road conditions.
*On February 24, police attended a domestic dispute where two intoxicated males were damaging a residence. Both men were arrested and lodged in cells.
*Police investigated a complaint of indecent text messages being received and the matter still being investigated.
*Police attended a residence to provide assistance to a man who was suicidal and cutting himself with a knife.
*Police located a 13 year old girl who was a runaway from another town.
*Police attended a hit and run accident in the Weyburn Trailer Court. A white vehicle driving erratically side swiped a parked mini-van and then fled the scene.
*On February 23, police assisted the Health Region in apprehending a certified patient in the city.
*Police attended a domestic dispute complaint of two males assaulting each other. One male was removed from the house. Charges are pending.
*On February 22, police investigated a complaint of impaired driving. The driver was apprehended but the allegation was unfounded.
*Police attended a domestic dispute with an alleged assault. The matter is still under investigation.
*Police attended a noise complaint in the Weyburn Trailer court. The matter was resolved without charges.
*Five local businesses were broken into during the evening and morning of the February 22 and 23. Entry was gained by forcing back doors of the business. Small amounts of cash were stolen. Persons with any information are encouraged to call Weyburn Police Service or Crimestoppers.
*On February 21, police attended a noise complaint in an apartment building. The matter was resolved without charges.
*Police executed a mental health warrant. The arrest was without incident.
*Police attended a complaint of several under-age young people drinking in public in the 600 block of Souris Avenue. One charge under the Alcohol and Gaming Regulations was laid.
*An incident of bullying was addressed by police. Both sides were contacted. The matter seems to be resolved without charges being laid.
*Police investigated a domestic dispute. There was an allegation that one of the persons threatened to settle the matter by using a knife. Statements are being taken and the investigation continues.
*An impaired driver was stopped. As a result of the breath test readings charges of impaired driving and over .08 were laid.
*Police assisted the Weyburn General Hospital in dealing with a mental health patient.
*On February 20, a young girl disclosed that she was the victim of a sexual assault when she was seven years old. The investigation continues into this matter.
