Preparations for staging the musical, “The Little Mermaid”, are well underway by the cast and crew at the Weyburn Comp School.
The actors are practicing, the technicians are getting the sound and lighting ready, volunteers have been working hard on the costumes, the decorating committee is getting material to turn the Colleen Weimer Hall into an undersea theme, the photo booth is being assembled, and the concession and merchandising areas are being planned.
The tickets are now on sale at Music Craft and the School ($15 for adults, $8 for anyone under 18 occupying a seat). Youngsters are encouraged to come in costume. This will be a musical that will transcend ages and everyone will enjoy it.
Performances for “The Little Mermaid” will be held on Thursday, May 12, Friday, May 13, and Saturday, May 14 at 7 p.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Cugnet Centre.
Pre-district badminton was held in the Eagle gym on Tuesday afternoon. Top finishers will advance to districts to be held on May 30 in Oxbow.
Track athletes are practising and if anyone in the community would like to volunteer to help at the Invitational WCS Meet on May 14, please contact the school.
