Weyburn RCMP, Fire and EMS responded to a three-vehicle collision on Highway 13 approximately 11 miles east of Weyburn on Saturday, June 1, at approximately 3:30 p.m . Two of the vehicles were travelling east bound and one vehicle was travelling west bound.
The RCMP is working with the coroner's office to identify the occupants of one of the vehicles. That vehicle was engulfed by flames. Police can confirm two fatalities at the scene. The names of the individuals are not being released at this time.
In a separate incident, early in the morning of June 2, Weyburn RCMP responded to a semi tractor trailer rollover, on Highway 13 approximately eight miles west of Weyburn. The semi was carrying butane.
There was no spill or leakage and efforts to clean up the site of this incident began at approximately 10 a.m, which resulted in the closure of highway 13 for a period of time. Traffic travelling this portion of highway 13 was re-routed for a few hours
