Keith Stemler, CEO of Dominion Energy, answers concerns one-on-one with Stoughton’s Fire Chief Pat Slater following a public meeting about the company’s proposed refinery for the Stoughton area on Thursday at the Legion Hall. The Legion was filled to capacity for the information session, and Stemler invited residents to approach him afterwards if they had any unanswered questions or concerns about the refinery. Some of the questions raised related to the proposed location of the refinery, next to Crescent Point Energy's Viewfield gas plant, as well as the safety of the facility to be built there. Stemler said the company now has all of the financing in place, and are close to finishing the first step, the proposal stage, before moving on to making an engineering design and getting all of the necessary permits from the provincial government.
