ROCANVILLE — The Town of Rocanville held their regular meeting of council on Nov. 15. While a light agenda, there were a few items discussed.
STARS donation request
Like many local councils, the Town of Rocanville received a letter from STARS with a donation request. Mayor Ron Reed noted the town had already donated to the much-needed non-profit.
Flower baskets
Town council is looking at establishing self-watering flower baskets along Ellice Street as a future option.
“We generally set out flower baskets yearly and it just gets to be very timely for town staff to maintain them and keep the flowers look good,” said Mayor Reed.
The Town plans to contact businesses to see if they would be interested in planting and maintaining the flowers throughout the year. The self-watering option would reduce the time town staff spend maintaining the flowers. Currently, it takes up to three hours every second day for one staff person to maintain the baskets.
“It adds up throughout the summer,” said Mayor Reed.'
