Salvation Army Food bank drive successful

Great success was received from the "Clash of Coteau Corner", during a food bank drive challenge between the Weyburn Credit Union and the Weyburn City Hall. In total, 3,676 pounds of food, and $15,866.



Great success was received from the "Clash of Coteau Corner", during a food bank drive challenge between the Weyburn Credit Union and the Weyburn City Hall. In total, 3,676 pounds of food, and $15,866.65 was collected during the challenge, which means a total of 19,542.65 pounds of food for the Salvation Army Weyburn Corps.

The City of Weyburn was declared the winner of the challenge, collecting 1,631 pounds of food and $11,888 in donations, bringing their total to 13,519 pounds of food.

The Weyburn Credit Union collected 1,195 pounds and $3,660 in donations, bringing their total to 4,855 pounds.
During the Holiday Train visit in Weyburn on Dec. 17, there was 850 pounds of food collected, and $318.65 in donations, for a total of 1,168.65 pounds.

The "Clash of Coteau Corner" was declared a success by both Lieut. Mike Mailman and Lieut. Melissa Mailman of the Salvation Army.

For their annual Christmas kettle campaign, the Salvation Army received $50,000 in donations as of Dec. 21. Their goal for the year is $60,000.
