Saskatchewan has 127 new cases of COVID-19, but none are in the southeast

There are 127 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on Nov. 10, bringing the provincial total to date to 4,214 cases. There are no new cases to report in the southeast region.

There are 127 new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on Nov. 10, bringing the provincial total to date to 4,214 cases. 

There are no new cases to report in the southeast region. Forty-two cases in the southeast are currently listed as active; 18 of those active cases are in Southeast Zone 4, which includes Estevan.

There have been 78 cases of COVID-19 in the southeast since mid-March.

Fifty new cases are in the Saskatoon region and 31 are in the Regina region. As for the rest of the province, 11 are from the northwest; six are from each of the far northwest, the far northeast, the central east and the south central regions; four are from the far north central, and two each are from the north central, northeast and central west regions.

Two new cases are Saskatchewan residents tested from out of province.

One case is pending residence information. Three cases reported Nov. 8 with pending residence information have been assigned to the north central zone.

Of the 4,214 reported cases, 1,305, or about 31 per cent, are considered active. 

There have been 111 recoveries, bringing the Saskatchewan total to 2,880, or 68.4 per cent of those diagnosed.

Forty-four people are in hospital. Thirty-three people are receiving inpatient care: one in the far northwest, three in the northwest, seven in the north central, one in the northeast, 18 in Saskatoon and three in the Regina region. Eleven people are in intensive care; two in the north central, six in Saskatoon, one in the central east and two in Regina.

There have been 553 cases from the south area (243 southwest, 232 south central, 78 southeast).

As for the rest of the province, 1,179 cases are from the Saskatoon area, 902 cases are from the north area (294 northwest, 436 north central, 172 northeast), 604 cases are from the Regina area,

520 cases are from the far north area (440 far northwest, nine far north central, 71 far northeast), and 445 cases are from the central area (203 central west, 242 central east).

Eleven cases have pending residence information

Of the 4,214 cases in the province, 394 cases are travelers, 1,931 are community contacts (including mass gatherings), 914 have no known exposures and 975 are under investigation by local public health.

There have been 122 cases in healthcare workers; however, the source of the infections may not be related to healthcare in all instances.

A total of 854 cases involve people 19 years of age and under, 1,544 cases are in the 20-39 age range, 1,190 are in the 40-59 age range, 522 are in the 60-79 age range and 104 are in the 80-plus range.

Fifty-one per cent of the cases are females and 49 per cent are males.

Twenty-nine deaths related to COVID-19 have been reported.

To date, 285,858 COVID-19 tests have been processed Saskatchewan. As of Nov. 8, when other provincial and national numbers were available, Saskatchewan’s per capita rate was 190,095 people tested per million population. The national rate was 265,663 people tested per million population.

There were 1,837 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan on Monday.
