Saskatchewan's merchandise exports reached $3.1 billion in March (seasonally unadjusted), a 6.4 per cent increase year-over-year, and an all-time high for the month of March according to Statistics Canada.
Saskatchewan's merchandise exports were $8.7 billion for the first three months of 2015, up 10.6 per cent over the same period last year. This was the second largest increase among the provinces.
Year-over-year, major increases were recorded in metal and non-metallic mineral products, up 293.1 per cent; metal ores and non-metallic minerals, up 62.1 per cent; consumer goods, up 56.8 per cent; and electronic and electrical equipment and parts, up 46.2 per cent.
