After a successful first year, Southeast College will once again offer University of Regina classes for the upcoming 2018-19 academic year. Delivery locations will include Estevan, Weyburn and Moosomin. Indian Head will be added as a delivery location for the upcoming year due to increased student demand.
“We were very pleased with the number of students that we had in our first year offering University of Regina classes. Our students recognized some of the advantages to taking their first year at home including small class sizes, convenient class times and delivery methods and by far the most important, cost savings,” said Kelly Hilkewich, vice-president of Education for Southeast College.
“We would like to encourage all parents of soon to be university-aged students to stop by and see what Southeast College has to offer.”
Southeast College’s university students will be able to take selected first-year classes which lead to completion of the Liberal Arts Certificate, or the classes can be used towards a Bachelor Degree in Arts, Education, Health Studies, Pre-Social Work or the Diploma in Liberal Arts. Students can supplement the in-person classes with a large variety of online and live-streamed options that may also be applied to other programs at the University.
The College will be hosting a number of open house events across the region next week to provide interested students with the opportunity to tour the college’s facilities in addition to experiencing some of the technology used in university classes.
The Weyburn campus open house will be held Thursday, March 8, from 3-6 p.m. The Estevan campus will hold their open house on Wednesday, March 7, from 3-6 p.m.
