A snowfall warning has been issued for the Carlyle area and the far southeast corner of the province.

According to the warning, issued by Environment Canada at 10:03 a.m., snow that is heavy at times will continue over the region on Monday.

Another low pressure system that stalled over northwestern Ontario will bring additional snowfall into the Carlyle area. Ten to 15 centimetres is expected before the system weakens and moves off Tuesday.

People are asked to prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.

A warning has not yet been issued for the Estevan area, but Estevan and other communities received several inches of snow on Sunday and early Monday. Strong winds are blowing the snow around.

The city also received some rain before the snow.

The Highway Hotline, operated by the Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure, reports that winter conditions exist, but has yet to issue travel not recommended advisories.
