A 57-year-old Weyburn male was killed in a snowmobile accident on the Souris River on Wednesday evening.
At approximately 9:10 p.m., Jan. 13, the Weyburn Police received a call from EMS requesting assistance for a snowmobile accident on the river near the auto wreckers.
EMS and Police located the accident at the Tatagwa Control Structure, located in South Weyburn, southwest of New City Garden Road.
It was determined that two snowmobilers were travelling southbound on the river when the one snowmobile struck a control gate on the bridge.
The Coroner’s Office and the Weyburn Police Service continue to investigate the cause of the accident. The name of the deceased has not been released as yet.
