Event organizers for the Gateway Festival will mark their 10th annual anniversary this year. In celebration, entertainers will include a world-class line up that includes the Sheepdogs, Tim Hicks, the Deep Dark Woods, Justin Townes Earle, Daniel Romano and many more.
Over the past decade thousands of music fans from across the prairies and beyond have flocked to Bengough for the annual Gateway Festival.
Scheduled for Friday to Sunday, July 24 to 25, during the weekend the town's population grows by over 10 times. The Gateway Festival provides an opportunity for people to experience new and diverse artistic experiences in a festival format, during a three-day weekend.
During the three-day weekend, residents can watch entertainment on three different stages. There are other activities, such as workshops, a children's area with performers and activities, a "concerts and culture crawl", and many other events during the festival.
The festival is located in the Bengough Regional Park at the south end of Main Street.
Camp sites are located next to the festival grounds and provide access to hot showers and washrooms, an outdoor swimming pool, a cook shack, and the golf course. Sites are conveniently divided into 'Family', 'Quiet', and 'Party' zones to help best match requested weekend plans.
The Gateway Festival is hosted by the Bengough Municipal Arts Council Inc., which is a registered charitable public foundation whose mandate is to contribute to the development of a strong and vibrant cultural community in Bengough and the surrounding area.
Advance ticket prices for the Gateway Festival is $90 for an adult weekend pass, and $55 for a youth weekend pass. Rush ticket prices are $110 for an adult weekend pass and $70 for a youth weekend pass. Children under 12 get in for free. Day passes are $65 for Friday, $75 for Saturday and Sunday is free.
Ticket locations include Bengough Drugs, Artful Dodger in Regina, Pharmasave in Weyburn, Triangle News in Coronach, Escape Hair Assiniboia, Radville Star, Rockglen Agencies and the Willow Bunch RM Office.
