Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for southeast Saskatchewan due to the heat expected for this week, but it has stopped short of issuing a heat warning, for now.
A building ridge of high pressure from the west coast will bring daytime highs in the thirties and overnight lows in the mid to upper teens.
A reprieve from the hottest temperatures is expected this weekend, however, temperatures remain warm into early next week in the southeast Prairies.
A heat warning could eventually be issued.
The Mercury will have more details as they become available.
